There will be more support to help people wanting to come off Opiate Replacement Therapies (ORTs) such as methadone and subutex because from Sunday 4th September 2016 a new mutual aid meeting is starting in York.
The goal of these new ORT Recovery & Me meetings is the same as any other – to help more people live a drug free life. Only this mutual aid meeting focuses on the experience of coming off these prescribed medications.
Lived experience of recovery from ORT will be heard at these meetings and people who have ‘walked their ORT recovery journey’ will be on hand to answer questions and help other people start or continue their own recovery journey.
The first meeting will be held on Sunday 4th September 6-7pm at Bowes Morrell House, Walmgate, York. Please see information poster below for further details. Meetings will be weekly.
